In Psalm 51:4, David says, “Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight.”

When confessing sin, it is important to realize that my personal sin is against the Lord. Although it may affect other people, it cost God His very Son. This thought overwhelms me.

In 2 Corinthians 6:14, Paul writes “Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common or what fellowship can light have with darkness?”

Ruth 1:16 says, “Where you go I will go...Your people will be my people, and your God will be my God.”

I love Ruth and her declaration of loyalty to Naomi. Ruth was willing to give up her entire way of life to go with Naomi; even as bitter as Naomi was with God.

Ephesians 6:17 says, “and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”

Now, we go on the offense. On guard! Our swords (the Word of God) are in hand! So how do we wield it with skill?
