Shout for Joy!
Psalm 98:4 says, “Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music.”
Some days it is easier for us to shout for joy than it is on other days. But notice this verse says shout for joy all the earth. Maybe we should take a lesson from the rest of the earth. If something bad happens, such as a flooded stream, the stream doesn’t quit flowing or wonder why God is taking it from its boundaries. It’s almost as if it knows it will eventually settle back into the safety of its banks.
Sometimes I don’t understand what God is saying to me. Like the water in that stream, I want what is “normal” to return to my life. But I’m realizing more and more that God may want to change my “normal”. Rest and security will eventually come for me.
Until that happens, however, I can continue to trust that He has me covered. I can honestly shout for joy, for I am never outside of His watchcare over me.
And there you go!
