Exercising Wisdom

Proverbs 14:15 says, “The simple believe anything, but the prudent give thought to their steps.”

Trusting everyone you meet is not the best idea. You just can’t trust everyone!

As Christians, it’s good to give others the benefit of the doubt, but don’t believe everything you hear, especially in this day and age.

Ask God to show you who you should believe and what you should do. He will provide this wisdom. He promises this to us in James 1:5, “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”

Wisdom from the Lord is a wonderful gift but there is more to this verse. We should also be prudent as we go throughout our day. In order to give thought to our steps, we should ask for God’s direction. Pray, believing he will show you the way. Plan, but plan to be interrupted. The interruptions of your day will often be him speaking to you and giving you an opportunity to witness or show compassion to someone in need.

God may be planning an interruption so you will act in His will today. How will his story play out in your life today?

And there you go!
