Don't Give in to Fear
Psalm 56:3 says, When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.
Fear is not lack of trust. Sometimes being afraid brings us to a place of greater trust. I have learned to ask myself this question. Is it true or real right now? This concept came from a Bible study by Elizabeth George.
So, instead of giving in to fear, I say to myself, “Is it true right now with all I know of the given situation?” God is only asking me to deal with the here and now. I cannot go back, and I don’t know the future. Jesus may come any second, so I should not waste my time worrying. When a crisis does come, I will have used my energy worrying and in my tiredness, it will be more difficult to deal with the crisis.
So when you are afraid you will fall apart, put your trust in God. We can know what is true, for He is trustworthy.
And there you go.
