Do You Know Who God Is?

I John 4:8 says, “Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.”

“Do you know who God is?”  

That is the question 5-year-old Meagan kept badgering 2-year-old Malorie with as we drove down the road in the mini-van. Malorie, strapped helplessly in her car seat, would not answer. This greatly frustrated Meagan. Finally, Meagan gave an exasperated sigh and turned to look out the window in defeat.

A minute or so later Malorie began to sing her answer, 

“Jesus loves me this I know, For the Bible tells me so.
Little ones to Him belong, they are weak but He is strong.
Yes, Jesus loves me. Yes, Jesus loves me.
Yes, Jesus loves me. The Bible tells me so.”

Wow...out of the mouth of babes. 

Mal knew who God was because His Word says “God is love”.

If ever I thought it was too early to begin training them, this moment made me realize it is never too early to begin teaching someone who Jesus is. 

As you go along today, I hope you can find a way to share who God is with a simple act of love toward someone else.
